Daily Schedule - May 20-23, 2008
NOTE: We do have one session before May 20 -- the Tech Check on May 19. This isn't officially part of the conference, but you may want to attend just to test your connection before the conference sessions start in earnest.
Session Descriptions
Want to make sure you can connect before the conference begins? Join us for a quick test of the webconferencing software connection. You can log in, we'll test the phone conferencing bridge, screen sharing, polling, and questions and answers. This will help you get familiar with the web conferencing software GoToWebinar.
Flashform Goes Online: Unison -- The Next Generation So, you love Flashform. Imagine all of Flashform's capabilities (plus many extras) and imagine it all online. Imagine being able to collaboratively create courses real-time from any location through a secure smartly designed interface that is even easier to use than Flashform. Now imagine collaborating with other team members on course review and feedback, tightly integrated with the course itself. Imagine that, and you are imagining Unison. It's Flashform online, and a whole lot more.
Flashform and Unison for Beginners Are you just starting with Flashform or Unison? Attend this session to get started on the right foot! You'll learn about fundamentals in each tool so that you'll be better prepared to get the most out of the remaining sessions.
Game Time! How to Quickly Build eLearning Games with Flashform and Unison Adding simple learning games to your online course can be entertaining as well as effective. In this session learn how to use the new eLearning Games Template Pack as well as some instructional strategies for implementing learning games effectively. We'll also introduce you to the soft skill simulation building template, which also has a lot of game play to it.
How to Make Your Custom Flashform or Unison Page Template SCORM Conformant Have you created a custom page template for Flashform? Would you like your custom page template to submit data to a SCORM conformant LMS? In this session you will learn how to tie into the SCORM functions built into Flashform courses that let you send data to an LMS. We will look at data such as scores, interaction data and completion data.
Creating Custom Flashform and Unison Course Styles (Templates) One of the most powerful features of Rapid Intake technology is the ability to customize it to your needs. In this session, you will learn how to create reusable custom course interfaces called "course styles" that can be distributed to others on your team. We'll focus on Flashform, but the principles apply to Unison as well.
How to Extend Unison (for Flashform Pro Users) If you're used to using Flashform Professional to customize and extend the Rapid Intake platform using Flash, you'll be happy to find out you still have the same freedom of control and customization with Unison, even though it's an online course authoring tool. In this session we'll demonstrate how the architecture of your Unison account is designed to accommodate custom reusable page templates, the input forms that accompany those templates, and adding custom course interfaces.
Interactive Live Networking Session It's lunchtime (at least here in Utah) at 12:15, so grab a bite to eat, bring it back to your desk, and log into this session where you can ask questions about Flashform, Unison, chat with other Rapid Intake users, or just kick back and listen in. This session is very informal, so come with questions, comments, suggestions, and anything else that is on your mind.
Get a close look at some of the new features in Flashform 3, including four new quiz question types, distracter-specific feedback for multiple choice questions, five new page templates, printable certificates, emailing quiz results, and more.
Little Known Tips and Tricks in Flashform for Beginners In this session you will be introduced to some of the little know tips and tricks that can be used when creating courses in Flashform. Some of the topics discussed will be:
Quickly Building a Front-end Multi-Project Menu and Tracking System Would you like to track multiple courses without using an LMS? Rapid Intake recently partnered with Rehab Classworks to build a front-end menu to track basic data for multiple courses. In this session we will look at what was learned from this project; lessons that you can apply to building a front end menu; how to include multiple Flashform courses using only one set of player files, and how to provide data for the courses and printing that data.
